The Mersea RNLI boat will be visiting us (If they have no shouts)

Offshore & Inshore

10:30 - 11:00 Mini mud race

Adults and Children can participate with 2 races

From steps near Jolly Sailor pub clockwise to a marker, to another marker, and then back to steps.   A hose will be available to wash off. NO jumping in the Lock.

**Shoes must be worn to race**

12:50 10min warning gun - Sailing races

13:25 Last class start - Sailing races

14:30 (approx) Inshore races (whilst we have water)

InShore Races to compete in:

*races will be run dependant on tide*

  • Swimming race (open to everyone)
  • Ladies Single Rowing (double oar)
  • Ladies doubles rowing (single oar)
  • Mixed Couples (single oar)
  • Mens Sculling
  • Mens single rowing (double oar)
  • Mens double rowing (single oar)
  • Veterans (over 60)
  • Fun raft race (no boat parts , apart from oars or paddles.


(All dinghies to be ready and in the water for the races by 14:15)

(All home made rafts can be parked on the grass bank in front of The Jolly Sailor pub in the morning)

Other events

Caroline Coastal will be broadcasting live between 12 to 4pm and playing music throughout the day

10:00 BBQ opens

10:00 All stalls and kids area open

Stalls are located at: Basin Road, The Barn, Pub side carpark, Lock side field

11:00  & 14:00 Balloon & Magic entertainer (on kids field)

16:00 Raffle prize draw

20:00 till late - DJ music & dancing in The Jolly Sailor pub
